  • Mileage overages — $0.50/mile beyond the 150/day included. Ask about a road-trip package if you know you will exceed.
  • Fuel level on return — refuel to the level you received, or we bill at market + a small refueling fee.
  • California sales tax.
Direct vs Turo

Why direct booking
is cheaper.

We list a portion of the fleet on Turo because it works for some renters — but the same car, same delivery, same owner is cheaper when you book direct. Here is exactly why.

No platform service fee

Turo adds a service fee of roughly 15–25% on top of the daily rate. Direct booking removes that line entirely.

No protection plan markup

Turo bundles protection plans into checkout at marked-up rates. On our site, you pick the coverage path that fits your trip and pay the broker directly — no middleman margin.

No booking or trip fee

No trip start fee, no young driver fee, no booking convenience fee. The rate on the table is the rate.

Honest caveat: Turo’s in-platform protection plans are a specific product we do not replicate one-to-one. If you actively want Turo’s coverage structure and the convenience of an app-based dispute path, that is a legitimate reason to book there. If you want the lowest total cost, faster replies, and a direct line to the owner, book direct.

Discount stack

Stay longer,
pay less per day.

Weekly
15% off

Auto-applied on rentals of 7 days or longer. No code, no opt-in — the discount appears in your total at checkout.

Monthly
30% off

Auto-applied on rentals of 28 days or longer. Stacks with mid-rental extensions: if a weekly rental extends to a month, the monthly rate applies to the full term.

Need 60+ days or a corporate term? Email peakhorizonla@gmail.com — long-term rates are negotiable past the monthly tier.

Pricing FAQ

The questions
everyone asks.

Is the price I see the price I pay?

The daily rate you see is the daily rate you pay. Total at booking adds three line items only: California sales tax, a refundable security deposit (returned after the vehicle is checked back in clean and undamaged), and any insurance surcharge if you purchase coverage through our broker partner. No platform fees, no booking fees, no airport surcharges, no cleaning fee unless the vehicle comes back outside reasonable use.

How do mileage overages work?

Every rate includes 150 miles per day, pooled across the rental — a three-day trip gives you 450 miles to spend however you want. Overages are billed at $0.50 per mile at the end of the rental against the credit card on file. If you know you are doing a road trip, ask about a mileage package at booking; it is almost always cheaper to add miles up front than to settle at the end.

What is the security deposit?

The deposit is held on the primary renter’s credit card and varies by vehicle tier — generally a few hundred dollars on the economy fleet, higher on the BMW X7 and CLE Cabriolet, and a meaningful hold on the BMW M3 Competition. Exact amount is quoted before you confirm. It is a hold, not a charge; it is released after return inspection, typically within a few business days.

Can I extend mid-rental?

Yes, if the vehicle is available. Text or call us before the original return time — extensions made before the end of the rental keep your existing discount tier intact. A two-day rental that becomes seven automatically applies the 15% weekly discount on the full week. Extensions after the return time may be billed at standard daily plus a late fee, so always ask early.

Is there a delivery fee outside Greater LA?

Free delivery and pickup at LAX, Burbank Airport, and Greater LA hotels (Beverly Hills, Hollywood, West Hollywood, DTLA, Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey, Universal City, Pasadena, Glendale, and most points in between). Delivery beyond that — south to Long Beach, north to Santa Clarita, east past Pasadena — is quoted per trip based on driving time. Quoted up front, always before you confirm.

How does payment work?

A deposit confirms the reservation; the balance is charged at delivery. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and ACH for longer-term rentals. The primary driver must present a credit card in their own name for the security deposit hold. Broker insurance, if you choose that path, is paid separately to the broker through their platform.

Reserve at this rate.

Pick the car and the dates. Discounts auto-apply, taxes and security deposit are quoted before you confirm, and you'll talk to the owner — not a queue.
