What to do
with the keys.
Santa Monica is the smartest jump-off point on the Westside. PCH-1 starts at the California Incline a block from the Fairmont Miramar; you're on the coast inside 90 seconds of leaving the valet. North to Malibu, Point Dume, the County Line — the entire stretch the rental brochures sell. The CLE's soft-top handles the morning marine layer in 20 seconds at speed.
South via Ocean Avenue and Pacific is the other direction worth driving. Through Venice, down to Manhattan and Hermosa Beach, into Palos Verdes. The PV peninsula drive is 25 miles of clifftop coastline most LA visitors never see. Stop at Terranea for lunch, look back at the city skyline, drive back along the beach cities.
For dinner: the CLE valets cleanly at Forma, Élephante, The Lobster, Cassia, Tar & Roses, Pasjoli. The Fairmont Miramar bungalows have direct valet on Wilshire and the entrance is flat. Shutters and Casa del Mar share an approach and their valet team knows the car. The Loews has its own dedicated porte cochère and is the most convenient drop in town.
Parking around the city: meters along Ocean Avenue (use the app), Santa Monica Place garage is fine and free for the first ninety minutes, the Civic Center lot works for the pier. Avoid 4th Street between Wilshire and Broadway during rush — narrow, busy, and most curbs are red.

- Yes — Ocean Avenue meters are fine, Santa Monica Place garage is fine, and the pier lots are OK if you grab a spot away from the curbs. The CLE's standard ride height clears all SM municipal lot entries.
- Can I drive it to Malibu / PCH-1?
- Absolutely. The CLE Cabriolet is built for PCH. From Santa Monica it's a 15-minute drive to the start of the prettiest stretch — top down, Burmester on, AIRSCARF for the marine layer.
- How does insurance work?
- Renters bring their own eligible insurance, or use our broker for coverage at booking. Min driver age 25. We confirm coverage before keys change hands.
- Can I keep it for the full hotel stay?
- Yes — most renters do 2–4 nights at Santa Monica hotels. Weekly discount kicks in at 7 days (15%), monthly at 28 (30%).
